Legal Advice

The Taylor County Clerk's office is prohibited by law from giving advise to the public which would constitute legal advice. If you chose to file a court case without an attorney or defend yourself in a law suit, we can not advise you on the types of forms or documents required and we cannot assist you in filling them out.

Government Code, § 81.101 - Clerks Cannot give advice or render any service requiring the use of legal skill or knowledge, such as preparing any legal or court document.  If you need help preparing legal documents you can contact an attorney or go to the OCA Self-Help resources website or the State Law Library's website at

There are several places that we can direct you which provide forms and information.
