Civil Division

The Civil Division of the Taylor County District Attorney's Office:

Acts as legal counsel in civil matters for Taylor County and its elected and appointed officials.

​Provides the County's officials and department heads advice and counsel on legal issues relating to their governmental duties and responsibilities.

​Represents the County, its departments, and its officials in all aspects of civil litigation in state and federal courts.

​Prepares, revises, and reviews contracts and other legal documents for the County and its departments, and provides advice to County officials and department heads related to these contracts and documents.

​Represents the State of Texas and its agencies in mental health commitments, intellectual disability commitments, and other types of civil litigation.

​Represents the Texas Department of Family Protective Services (Adult Protective Services) in court cases involving allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of adults who are elderly or who have disabilities.

​Represents the Taylor County Domestic Relations Office in court cases involving modifications and enforcement of child support orders.

​Acts as the truancy prosecutor for local school districts in truancy proceedings in the Taylor County Justice of the Peace Courts.

​Represents the State of Texas and its agencies in the prosecution of Class C Misdemeanor cases in the Taylor County Justice of the Peace Courts.
