IN THE COMMISSIONERS’ COURT
OF TAYLOR COUNTY, TEXAS
ORDER SETTING TAX RATES AND LEVYING TAXES
On the 17th day of September, 2013, at a meeting of the Commissioners’ Court of Taylor County, Texas, the Court considered setting tax rates for the 2014 fiscal tax year. The Court found that the 2014 rates will be 47.91 cents for the general operating fund, 1.85 cents for Road and Bridge and .71 cents for the debt service, all per $100 valuation.
IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that the tax rates for the 2014 fiscal tax year are 47.91 cents for the general operating fund, 1.85 cents for Road and Bridge and .71 cents for the debt service, all per $100 valuation.
THIS TAX RATE WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 6.07% AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A 100-000-HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $23.30. THIS TAX RATE WILL RAISE MORE TOTAL PROPERTY TAXES THAN LAST YEAR’S BUDGET BY $2,363,606. OR 6.07%, AND OF THAT AMOUNT, $492,645. IS TAX REVENUE TO BE RAISED FROM NEW PROPERTY ADDED TO THE TAX ROLL THIS YEAR.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that taxes are levied for the 2014 fiscal tax year.
